schoonmaken afsluiters

  Hallo,

  Heeft iemand een tip waarmee ik het beste het binnenwerk van een bronzen afsluiter kan schoonmaken?

  En met welk vet kan ik hem weer het beste invetten?

  Ik doe dat met een dunne bokkenpoot (zo'n kromme kwast) en een bus met schroefasvet, van buitenaf. Kraan dicht; flinke lik erin, en dan een paar keer goed heen en weer ermee. Schoonmaken doe ik niet. Is geen doen.

  Een kogelafsluiter kun je schoonmaken met een pijpenragger. Er is speciaal kranenvet maar schroefasvet zal ook wel werken. Het vet moet het pakkingmateriaal van de afsluiter niet aantasten.

  Als je ‘t hebt over de bronzen blakes; dan is dit ’t onderhoud:

  SEACOCKS

  All seacocks should be regularly checked for the following details:

  1. Attachment to hull (including fastenings).

  2. Free movement of lever or wheel valves.

  3. Connections to hoses.

  It is recommended that all seacocks be dismantled, inspected and re-greased with Blakes seacock grease:-

  a. Before commissioning.

  b. At least once during the season.

  c. At winter lay up.

  To remove or adjust the barrel, first undo the lock nuts on the under side of the flange, and then remove the bolts which are tapped into the flange on the body of the seacock.

  Note

  When vessel is afloat, it is recommended that seacocks are turned off when leaving the boat, with the exception of cockpit drains (Sadler 32 only) and engine cooling water seacock. (More damage is caused by forgetting to turn on the water than by leaving the seacock open).
